Since its inception, Chevrolet has shown a commitment to innovation. The new Chevy EV/hybrid inventory is the latest step toward a new driving future. These Chevy electric cars and hybrids marry the safety and performance features the brand is famous for with new eco-friendly powertrains. As with the rest of the Chevrolet range, there's a diverse selection of vehicles among its inventory of EV and hybrid models.

Eco-Friendly Style

Every Chevrolet EV and hybrid is a true original. Whether it's a glamorous sports car, a ruggedly handsome pickup, or an elegant family SUV, Chevrolet does it with style. You'll appreciate the attention to detail, both inside and out, that helps set Chevrolet EVs and hybrid cars apart.

Chevrolet EV Makes and Models

Chevrolet currently sells three EVs: the Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and Silverado EV. Below is some more information on the all-electric versions of Chevrolet's most popular models.

Equinox EV

The Equinox EV is Chevy's entry-level electric SUV. It's slightly smaller than the Blazer, and available in just two trims: the LT and RS. A front-wheel-drive system with a single 220-hp electric motor comes standard, but you can opt for an all-wheel-drive set-up with two electric motors to boost power to 300 ponies. You trade in power for range though, as the standard configuration can travel 319 miles on a single charge, compared to just 285 miles with all-wheel drive. The cabin feels generous and feature-packed with a large 17.7-inch infotainment display outshining many systems in this class.

Blazer EV

Chevrolet turns up the charm with the Blazer EV, its more high-end electric SUV. This model is only slightly larger than its more affordable sibling, but the well-designed cabin makes it feel significantly more spacious. We especially love the bold red and black interior palette of the RS and SS trims.

Like the Equinox EV, front-wheel drive with a single 220-hp electric engine is the default option. The standard all-wheel-drive model makes just 288 hp, but don't get discouraged. Chevrolet treats us to some more impressive alternatives. Choose the RS with rear-wheel drive for a single electric motor that delivers 340 hp. If you want more power, you can opt for the all-wheel-drive SS, which has a 595 hp electric powertrain.

Silverado EV

The Silverado EV is a practical pickup powered by a pair of electric motors. Performance varies depending on the trim, but they're all powerful. The base WT gets 510 hp and goes up to 754 hp at the top end. You can put all that power to good use, with the Silverado EV capable of towing up to 12,500 pounds. Its payload capacity of 1,800 pounds should be plenty for tools and worksite supplies. With a maximum driving range of 492 miles, the Silverado EV's got plenty of charge to get you where you need to go.

Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

If you really want to impress, consider the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, which is the only hybrid model in Chevy's inventory. This is a stunning-looking sports car with the performance credentials to match its athletic exterior. The hybrid system, which features a 6.2-liter V-8 engine, produces 655 hp. That's an awful lot of power under the hood, but its all-season tires and gripping all-wheel-drive system help you stay in control. During independent testing, the Corvette E-Ray took just 2.5 seconds to reach 60 mph and 10.6 seconds to travel a quarter mile, which makes it faster than any other Corvette.

Preowned Chevy EVs and Hybrid Models

If you want to save a bit of money, consider a preowned EV or hybrid. Shopping used is also the only way to buy a Chevrolet Bolt EV, a Chevrolet Volt, a Chevrolet Malibu hybrid, or one of the brand's other discontinued eco-friendly vehicles.

The Advantages of Driving a Chevy EV or Hybrid

Below are some of the benefits of choosing Chevy EVs or hybrid vehicles.

Eco-Friendly Powertrains

These vehicles have eco-friendly powertrains that cut carbon emissions, helping to improve local air quality and reducing your carbon footprint.

Less Gas Consumption

Choosing a Chevy hybrid vehicle or EV is an excellent way to reduce your gas bills and your ongoing running costs. As gas prices climb higher, hybrid and EV drivers stand to save even more.

Quiet Powertrains

EVs are almost silent, so choosing one helps remove some of the noise pollution that plagues urban areas. Just imagine how much quieter and more peaceful Tacoma would be if everyone drove an EV.

Making the Switch: What Prospective Buyers Need To Know

Before you purchase a Chevy EV or hybrid, make sure you know what government incentives you're entitled to. Washington State has instant rebates for purchasing or leasing a new or used EV. There are also sales tax exemptions for many EV and hybrid models. You may also qualify for federal tax credits, utility rebates, and charger rebates. All these incentives can offset the price of a Chevrolet EV.

If you want an EV, make sure you know how you'll charge it. The state has thousands of public charging ports, but they're not all compatible with Chevy models. Public charging usually incurs an ongoing fee, but it's also faster than in-home charging. To avoid ongoing costs, you may decide to invest in home charging technology.
