Chevrolet Express Passenger Vans For Sale in Washington at Titus-Will Chevrolet
This lineup has stuck around because it does the job without complicating things. Chevrolet builds it with straightforward mechanicals, generous interior space, and seating configurations that top out at fifteen riders. At Titus-Will Chevrolet, we work with organizations throughout Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, and the wider Washington region to match the right series, wheelbase, and trim to the job at hand.
We've been part of the Pacific Northwest automotive scene since 1938, and that history gives us a practical understanding of what fleet and organizational buyers actually need from a passenger van. Capacity numbers have to be predictable, financing has to fit a business budget, and the service department has to keep the vehicle on the road.
Built on a Full Ladder Frame for Safety and Stability
Every Express Passenger Van rides on a full ladder frame, the kind of body-on-frame construction long favored for vehicles carrying heavy, variable loads. That frame adds stiffness under the cabin, which helps the van hold its composure when fully loaded with passengers and luggage, and it supports the higher GVWR ratings that separate this van from smaller passenger vans built on unibody platforms.
For organizations hauling groups on a regular schedule, that frame keeps handling steadier on the highway and makes the van behave more predictably when loaded near capacity. It's one of the quieter reasons this model has stayed a fleet staple for so long, even as competitors have shifted to different platforms.
Configurations, Trims & Seating Layouts
Getting the configuration right up front saves headaches later. The Express Passenger Van comes in three configurations: the 2500 regular wheelbase, the 3500 regular wheelbase, and the 3500 extended wheelbase, each offered in LS and LT trims.
2500 vs. 3500: Capacity, GVWR & Payload
The Express 2500 Passenger Van comes on the 135-inch regular wheelbase, seats up to 12 passengers, and carries a GVWR of 8,600 lbs with a maximum payload of 2,756 lbs. The Express 3500 Passenger Van steps up to a standard GVWR of 9,600 lbs and comes in two wheelbases:
3500 regular wheelbase (135-inch): Seats up to 12, with the highest maximum payload in the lineup at 3,739 lbs.
3500 extended wheelbase (155-inch): The only configuration with the fifth-row bench for 15-passenger seating. It carries a maximum payload of 3,427 lbs and offers an available 9,900-lb GVWR.
There's no extended-wheelbase 2500, so if you need that fifth row, the 3500 extended is the only way to get there.
Regular vs. Extended Wheelbase Seating Options
Choosing between the regular and extended wheelbase comes down to how many people you're moving on a typical run. The 135-inch wheelbase is easier to park and maneuver and covers groups up to 12, while the 155-inch extended wheelbase exists for organizations that regularly need that fifth row.
LS vs. LT Trim Overview
Every configuration comes in LS and LT trims. The LS is the well-equipped, fleet-focused choice, built to handle daily group transport with the essentials organizations rely on. The LT adds comfort and appearance upgrades for organizations that want more polish. Neither trim changes seating or capacity, so the choice comes down to finish, presentation, and budget.
If you're weighing 2500 against 3500, or regular against extended wheelbase, our sales team can pull up the specific configuration and compare it to what you already run in your fleet. Contact our commercial van specialists and we'll help you land on the right combination before you finance anything.
Powertrain Options & Heavy-Duty Trailering
Once seating and capacity are settled, the next decision is the engine, and this one has real consequences if your organization tows.
4.3L V6 vs. 6.6L V8 Performance
The standard engine across the lineup is a 4.3L V6 rated at 276 hp and 298 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It's the right choice for organizations that mostly move people without hauling a trailer behind them. For heavier-duty work, Chevrolet offers an available 6.6L V8 producing 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, also matched to an 8-speed automatic. The V8 is a meaningful step up in output, and it shows most clearly once you factor in towing.
Towing Capacity by Engine
The V6 tows up to 6,700 lbs, which covers a lot of typical fleet needs. The V8, by contrast, is rated to tow up to 9,600 lbs, a gap of roughly 2,900 lbs between the two engines. If your organization occasionally pulls equipment trailers, gear trailers, or anything with real weight behind it, that difference is worth thinking through before you order. It's also worth knowing that the CURT preloaded accessory hitch offered on this van is rated for 7,500 lbs with a 2-inch receiver and 2-inch drop, a separate number from the van's maximum V8 towing rating. Don't assume the accessory hitch alone gets you to the full 9,600-lb ceiling; that top rating depends on the full towing setup, not just the hitch itself.
Passenger Comfort, Active Safety & Fleet Technology
A van that moves people all day needs to keep them comfortable, and Chevrolet has built in a reasonable set of standard comfort and safety features while leaving room to add more.
Cabin Comfort Features
Every Express Passenger Van comes standard with front and rear air conditioning, rear auxiliary heating, and rear-seat air vents, which matters when you're running a full load of passengers on a warm Washington afternoon or a cold winter morning. Passenger-side door style varies by configuration, with swing-out and sliding doors both offered, so it's worth specifying if your loading routine depends on one. Deep-tinted Solar-Ray glass is also available for organizations that want extra privacy or reduced cabin heat.
Standard and Available Safety Technology
Standard safety technology includes a Rear Vision Camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and StabiliTrak stability control, a solid baseline no matter which trim you choose. From there, buyers can add Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Park Assist, worth considering for organizations running vans in tighter urban routes around Tacoma or busier commercial corridors.
OnStar Fleet Management & Connectivity
Every Express Passenger Van includes embedded OnStar hardware with eight years of OnStar Fleet Basics. Fleet operators can add OnStar Vehicle Insights for tools that track vehicle use and performance across the fleet, and an available Wi-Fi hotspot keeps passengers or staff connected on the road.
Who Relies on the Express Passenger Van
This van fits organizations that need to move a defined group of people on a repeatable schedule. Universities run shuttle routes between campuses and parking areas, while adult education and vocational programs use it to get participants to training sites. Churches rely on it for congregation transport and events, and independent athletic clubs use it to get teams to games and tournaments. Day care providers, non-profits running outreach programs, tour and shuttle operators, and business fleets moving staff between job sites all choose it for the same reasons: capacity you can count on and configurations that scale with the size of the group.
Commercial Service & Financing at Titus-Will Chevrolet
Buying a passenger van for a group is a different process than a personal vehicle purchase, and we treat it that way. Titus-Will Chevrolet works within GM Financial's commercial financing, leasing, and fleet programs, which offer more flexibility than a standard retail loan. Our finance team can walk businesses, non-profits, and institutions with varying credit profiles through their options, and our online credit application gets the process started before you visit. Replacing older vans? We'll include a trade-in valuation as part of the deal, and your tax advisor can tell you whether Section 179 deductions apply.
After the sale, our dedicated fleet service team has the facilities, tools, equipment, and certified technicians to keep your vans on the road. As a Chevrolet Business Elite Dealer, we also provide dedicated representatives, work-ready loaner vehicles, and extended service hours, so a service visit doesn't derail a route or program schedule.
